PREYS

PREYS

Through what eyes do you view the world, thou perverse youngling?.
What do you see beyond the skies,
When the moon and the stars come out to shine?.

You are of a narrow mind and of feeble heart,
So  thou can'st behold the hidden mysteries,
Mysteries only seen to the one who looks deep within.

You are of the surface, youngling,
The paint that hides the cracks on the wall,
The bridge that goes over dangerous waters,
The smooth skin that hides your raging blood within,
The ashes that hide the glowing embers beneath.

Oh young, shallow one
Why doth though say I love you,
When your heart is full of deceit?
Or has love become a cleaning rag,
To wash away your surface filth?.

The maggots of your cruel heart I see plainly,
The lies in your speech I  view with disgust,
The fangs behind your smiling lips I see,
Waiting to tear and devour your unsuspecting victims.

Oh, innocent ones that your preys are,
Ignorant to the dark that consumes,
Oblivious to the the sinking bog,
Underneath the shaking bridge ,
On which they stand.
