Can you hear me?
In this world of cacophony.. could you look at me? When you're not saying things the devil would give kudos to..
Could you get to know me? Before you put me up to the panel of judges,
Judges you set up for me,
With my friends,
My neighbours as witnesses,
Taking the stand against me.
Could you see a little bit of what I truly am? When you're not saying my friend's hair is longer than mine.
When you don't block my voice with the loud blasts of your criticisms and your sirens of the idea of perfectionism.
Could you stop for a minute, a brief moment, to take in the colour of my eyes? When you're not snapping about how underweight I am today and overweight tomorrow.
Could you tell me how I sound like? When you're not begging me to take my hoodie off and live a bit more .
When you don't complain about how none of my clothes seem to work for me.
Could you see how broken I am? When you're not saying life sucks and so do I.
When you're not saying I need help but never offer.
Could you at least see me?
For me,
Just for today.
